SYRACUSE, home of the Syracuse Orangemen. At one time, one of the most feared Collegiate Football programs in the country. (Not anymore though) But anyway, our famed gridiron has been home to the Great Jim Brown, #44, Floyd Little, #44, and probably the best # 44, Ernie Davis, who was the 1st black winner of the coveted Heisman Trophy and also part of the 1959 undefeated National Championship team here at the 'Cuse!Did you know that this gifted young athlete, who left such an impact on Syracuse died of leukemia at the tender age of 23 before he ever got to play one minute in the national football league for the Cleveland Browns?ANYWAY...Universal Pictures, yes from Hollywood, California, decided to do a movie on this great young mans short life. Casting included Rob Brown, Dennis Quaid and Charles Dutton. They named this flick the "Orange Express" and it is due out in October. WELL...Syracuse University, the City of Syracuse and Universal Pictures decided to have the premier showing of this flick in, where else but Da 'Cuse itself and the City decked itself out and we had one hell of a real Hollywood Movie Premier Extrordinair. It was a party like none we've ever seen. The woman and I couldn't afford the $1,000.00 per ticket, nor the $250,00, nor even the $44.00 ticket, so we camped out on the corner of E.Jefferson and S.Salina Streets and gathered in all the ambiance that the celebration could muster. Let's see if i can post a few videos and/or photos>>>
So anyway, we had a blast, you can go to google and type in Syracuse orange express or go to http://www.wixt.com/ scroll down and you'll find some really good coverages of this very exciting event.OK, so what else is new in the 'Cuse?
How about our new kitty cat...welllll, we've had him since last winter and his name is Rascal, or as we call him, Jelly Yellow Belly.
Want to see him, ok, you will love him, here ya go--------->>>
Pretty cute, hey?
And so, hey did I tell you all that I was an Emcee at the Syracuse City Hall last Month at the Congolese Community's Flag raising ceremony? Well, I was and here's a pic of me, the Mayor of Syracuse and a couple of beautiful Congolese women who spoke at the ceremony, one is a Professor at Syracuse University. The Congolese are such neat people, I love them ! Jeeeeshh, I never cease to amaze myself!
I also want to brag about my photo that I searched the entire summer for. It is definately my best work, tell me what you think?
It was taken at the New York State Fair right near the front entrance where my Lady and me sat resting our Piggies whilst lapping at some delicious NY State home made Ice Cream from the brand new "NY State Products Store" Yes, I thought as we sat there people watching, that flower over there would make a beautiful photo against the brilliant blue sky background. Oh what a gorgeous day we picked to go to the Great new York State Fair! The only bummerwas....No Bill or Hillary for us this year :--(

So, with that, I think I have to go to bed, it's after midnight and I have lots and lots of work to do at the Job tomorrow. I'll have to make a Post on that, because our Company has now shipped 8 workers, the Owner and tons of drying equipment down to Texas, like Houston, Beaumont, Port Arthur. My guys tell me the place is just destroyed. They are likening it to the famous "Katrina Storm" as far as wide spread damages. More on that later.

NodRog,
They actually filmed all of the stadium scenes for this movie less than a mile from my house at Lane Tech High School where Mel will probably go to HS. My friend Helen was an extra in the movie, I am really looking forward to it.
Cute Kittie.
The governor of Illinois comes into the restaurant once in a while. I had to wait on him last time, a couple of months ago. I thought about having my picture taken with him, but he is so incredibly unpopular here, I thought twice about it.
