ALWAYS SOMETHING TO DO!

Actually, I just want to brag about all the amazing things I seem to get myself into or involved with.
To the right is a shot of me ------------------------------>>>
next to the brand new $600K Rescue/Pumper that the Taunton Fire Dept. took delivery of just before thanksgiving. Sorry the pic is so dark and doesn't show the massive size of this 40 ft behemoth of a firetruck. It serves as both a front line attack pumper/engine or a heavy rescue vehicle for almost any type rescue situation and it actually has a twin pair of "Jaws of Life" rescue tools. We sold a lot of pancakes to buy this baby..Ha Ha Ha.

Hey, that must be me, the MLB Wannabe or shouldabeen as I stopped to pose in front of the entrance sign at the Cooperstown
All-Star Baseball Camp which is actually located about 45 minutes south of The Hall of Fame in Oneonta, New York. OMG, you should have seen this facility, I wish I was a kid again and my parents had the $3500. it takes to go to this unbelieveable baseball camp. The 8 playing fields were all like major league caliber!

This past summer for the 2nd year in a row, I single handedly organized "Volunteer Firefighter Night" at our local Triple A Stadium. One of the highlights of the evening is a pre-game on field ceremony where we award our Firefighter of the year. This is a very prestigious event. There was also a whole slew of other events that went on. When this evening is over, I have to take a sigh of relief and say, Gordo, You never cease to amaze myself sometime! ha ha ha.

Well, my only claim to fame with the attached video, is the fact that I shot it at this years family reunion and it is priceless. When I got Ma to be-bop and rock in her chair to that music, I could have died. I will cherish this forever Mom!!
I love you, you're way too cute!

So, What can I tell you about the day I went fishing with my good friend Wally Fishmonger out on Otisco Lake. It was a really cool September day '08 as you can see by the jacket and I told Wally I wanted to just fish off the dock with my usual worms and bobber for panfish or something similar...Naahhh, c'mon, let's go out trolling a little way, they say the bass have been hitting he says. I hate bass, they get too big and their dorsal fins are too sharp, and I always get stuck and I'm still a big fat scaredy cat about any fish bigger then my two hands, but nooooo, Wally has to have his way, and OH MY FREAKING GOD, I almost jumped out of the boat when I felt the tug on my line, and when I got first glimpse of this massive 52 inch freak of nature I threw Wally my pole and told him I quit fishing. I let him take it in and I was fine just taking the picture, from THE OTHER END OF THE BOAT!!

This video propbably hasn't been seen by many and it also is pretty neat and something I will cherish. Pop's is definately the Rock, the Patriarch of the Kotars Clan. While I apologize that the video does not have the quality that NBC or CBS Sports would have in following the ball, this tee off shot was truly a beauty.
ps...(my father once told me that beauty is only in the eye of the beholder) But it sure sounded good!
That's all for now bloggers, I have chores to do on this very snowy Sunday afternoon, the last day of November, 2008. Yikes!!! Merry Christmas pretty soon !!

Wow, you are an important guy to know and you didn't even post one of your many pictures with Secretary of State Clinton!

Nice job, Nod Rog.

Nice blog, Gordy. So, what is the premium to insure a $600,000 fire truck? I enjoyed reading this new posting. Gordy, I hope you know your parents are very, very proud of you for all you have done to make your part of the world a safer and better place in which to live. You are dearly loved.
